Draw the Destination is back for a second summer!

The first summer was a hit: we discussed Dan Eldon’s life and accomplishments through art, practiced journaling and collaging, taught the kids how to use spray cans and create beautiful mural artwork, learned about creative activism through video clips and books, and completed a 12 foot long mural on canvas for Creative Visions Foundation.

This summer promises to be even better.  We have secured a beautiful location at Seven Arrows Elementary in the Pacific Palisades.  In addition to awesome sessions at the school, the kids will have the opportunity to interact face to face with art activists practicing their work today.  We will be visiting the guys at CHALK Gallery in Venice, where the kids will learn how to recycle old aerosol cans and create paintings, canvases, and sculptures.  Creative Visions Foundation has opened their doors to the kids too, so they will experience first hand what it’s like to be amongst the exciting environment of the CVF staff.  Finally, the kids will be collaborating on social justice murals that will be painted on the two 5’x12′ handball walls at Seven Arrows Elementary.

We are currently enrolling for summer 2012!  Spread the word!  The more young minds to inspire the better!
